Since the first episode on 20 October 1999 there have been 1,408 weeks, and 251 of them (17.8%) had no new episode. 39 of those were planned breaks; the rest were single weeks or short gaps, usually because another programme took the slot.
24 weeks, from 14 October 2024 to 30 March 2025: an announced break in the middle of the Egghead arc. The longest stretch without any gap was 33 weeks, from 17 March 2019 to 27 October 2019.
On average 44.1 in a full year (2000 to 2025). The most was 50, in 2014; the fewest was 33, in 2025. Since 2026 the anime follows a new schedule of about 26 episodes a year, so 2026 has 25 so far.
Every episode's air date was taken from three independent lists and compared one by one. A date is used only when at least two of them agree.
